We are looking for enthusiastic people for our freelance team who will perform at heritage sites across Scotland as characters from history for several new projects launching this spring.

Artemis specialises in costumed interpretation which uses dramatic presentation while communicating historical messages and skills to the participants.

Our costumed interpreters run high quality, engaging public performances and educational workshops at leading heritage sites across Scotland including Edinburgh Castle and the National Museums of Scotland.

The  school workshops we run are led by characters from history who bring a particular period of history to life. The workshops follow structured lesson plans that are designed to develop key skills that are essential to Scotland’s Curriculum for Excellence. All historical information and performance details are provided.

Artemis Scotland’s character performances delivered to general visitors at heritage sites are designed to help these visitors understand the significance of the particular historical character at the site being visited and to encourage interaction. Again all historical and performance information is provided.

Good communication skills, a Basic Disclosure Certificate less than 12 months old are essential as is a willingness to travel and a clean driver’s license.  A working knowledge of the Curriculum for Excellence and an interest in history is desirable but not essential.

To apply please send your CV and a covering letter to info@artemisscotland.com
