To many, Flora MacDonald is a romantic heroine of the Jacobite cause.

It is she who is immortalised by the Skye Boat song for her help to get Prince Charles Edward Stuart off South Uist and to safety. However, in her lifetime she never pledged support for the Jacobites or showed any interest in the cause. Yet she most definitely made it possible for the Prince to escape while risking her own life. Why?

This weekend is your chance to find out. With their usual impeccable research, Artemis Scotland presents Flora MacDonald at Dunstaffnage Castle and the chance to discover the real story of what happened.

Flora will be at the Castle from noon till 4pm.
