Evacuees’ Workshop, March 2020

  • Posted on: 11/03/2020

The ever popular Evacuee workshop returned to the National Museum of Rural Life today. Once again Miss Moffat transports primary school children back to September 4th 1939, the day after war is declared – a Monday, and a new school day for thousands of children.

The workshop reflects the experience of evacuees across Scotland and is based on oral testimony collected by Artemis. Miss Moffat did actually evacuate children from the east end of Glasgow to the Isle of Bute and her experiences are also used in the session.

This month the sessions are on till Friday, and are all fully booked. Miss Moffat will be back on September, however. We will keep you posted on dates and booking information.
