National Museums of Scotland

In 1995 the centre of Edinburgh was inscribed as a World Heritage Site, recognising the unique contrasting characters of the medieval Old Town and Georgian New Town which make the city such an admired place.

National Library of Scotland

The National Library of Scotland is an information treasure trove of Scotland’s knowledge, history and culture, with millions of books, manuscripts and maps covering every subject.

The Royal Collection

Shaped by the personal tastes of kings and queens over more than 500 years, the Royal Collection includes paintings, drawings and watercolours, furniture, ceramics, clocks, silver, sculpture, jewellery, books, manuscripts, prints and maps, arms and armour, fans, and textiles. It is is held in trust by The Queen as Sovereign for her successors and the Nation, and is not owned by her as a private individual.
