We at Artemis provide a range of educational and cultural services tailored to meet the needs of our clients - schools, museums and heritage sites. Artemis supports the Curriculum for Excellence in its delivery of workshops on historical, environmental and citizenship subjects.

Costumed interpretation is also provided in the context of other appropriate learning material as required by each client. Where costumed interpretation is being delivered, appropriate room settings are created with period props and handling materials to compliment the interpretation.

Artemis has deservedly won a reputation for meticulous attention to detail and historically accurate and well researched first person live interpretation.

Building on from our success when Stirling Castle won the prestigious Sandford Award for excellence in its heritage education provision for which Artemis supplied the workshop, we have been involved in many exciting projects across Scotland, including a presentation at the Museums Association Conference, a paper at Manchester University’s international conference on Performance and Learning, our involvement in the training programme Skills Building for the Future delivered to the Highlands and Islands of Scotland and our new project with The Tall Ship in Glasgow.

Our services now include:

  • interpretation training courses and CPD courses for teachers and those involved in museum, gallery and heritage education
  • costumed guiding training and delivery
  • historical research for exhibitions and events
  • consultancy in museum education and all aspects of costumed interpretation and period costume.

Artemis’ clients include BBC Radio Scotland and Radio 4, Historic Scotland, National Museums of Scotland, The Edinburgh World Heritage Trust, National Library of Scotland, Glasgow Museums’ Service, ATS Heritage and a wide range of Scottish educational authorities and museums in the north of England.
